The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) is responsible for maintaining facilities, mowing the grass, collecting the trash, and trimming the trees, but their staff does not assist with the colorful flower beds across the 44 acre park. Friends of Westgate Park began as an informal group in 2007 to address the blight and safety issues in the park at that time, and to help beautify and improve the park for all to enjoy.<\/p><p>Friends of Westgate Park is a very small volunteer organization, and they need your help in 2026! Participation in their events is the easiest way to help, as they need a few dedicated volunteers to consistently help with park clean up events that occur 2x a month. A few more board members would go a long way in providing stability to the organization. The board is informal and a minimal time commitment, with only about 6-10 hours a month from March \u2013 early November.
